Light snow is possible across parts of St. Lawrence County today as a weak low pressure system passes well south of the area, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Cold weather will dominate the week, with a high of 19 today, and wind chill values as low as -3, forecasters say. A total of one inch of snow accumulation is possible today.
The overnight low will be around 2 with wind chill values of -6, the service says.
The next best shot of widespread snowfall will be later Wednesday through Thursday with a low passing well north of our area. The high Wednesday will be 25 with wind chill values as low as -8, NWS says.
Aside from Thursday, temperatures will be below normal over the next week.
The forecast through Monday is as follows:

A 50 percent chance of snow showers, mainly after 11am. Increasing clouds, with a high near 25. Wind chill values as low as -8. South wind 5 to 13 mph. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Wednesday Night
Snow showers likely, mainly after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 22. South wind 16 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Thursday
Snow showers likely before noon, then rain and snow showers likely between noon and 4pm, then a chance of rain showers after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 38. Southwest wind around 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
