ST. REGIS FALLS -- State police are investigating a fatal car accident that happened today at the St. Regis Falls Campground.
Troopers are identifying the deceased as Donald W. Morczek, 42, of Lee Center.
Investigators say he was operating a 2008 Ford pickup truck on Campground Road.
Upon reaching the dead end of Campground Road, Morczek decided to reverse his vehicle and turn around.
While backing, Morczek's vehicle left the roadway and struck a small tree. Morczek drove his truck forward, back onto the roadway and exited the vehicle, troopers said.
Morczek's vehicle then started to roll forward. Morczek tried to re-enter the truck, which continued to roll in a northerly direction. The vehicle exited the roadway, struck a group of trees and pinned Morczek between the vehicle's door and door jamb, troopers said.
Franklin County Coroner Brian Langdon pronounced Morczek dead at the scene.
