SOUTH COLTON -- Robideau’s Mahogany Ridge Bar and Grill, 3927 State Highway 56, is now serving customers in a newly renovated restaurant its owners describe as “Adirondack-style.”

Terrie Woodward, who is also a Norwood-Norfolk Central School teacher, will run the business with her fiancé Bill Reed. Kirk and Jennie Robideau own the building and lease it to Woodward and Reed.

The building was formerly home to Mike’s South of the Rock.

The new restaurant and bar opened Friday, Oct. 23.

Woodward says they will offer a “little bit of everything” including steaks, seafood and Italian dishes creating a “well-rounded menu.”

She describes the décor as Adirondack and said that a neighborhood effort from “the Sugarbush Lane team,” comprised of friends and family near the restaurant all chipped in to help remodel the building along with contractors.

“We overhauled the whole place,” she said. Everything has been changed…new painting…new staff.”

They employ seven people and will look to increase employees once they get established, she said.

The chef is Bryan Hewes of Potsdam. He will cook with what Woodward calls “fresh ingredients.”

The bar will be open weekdays at 2 p.m. and weekends at noon. Bar food will be available once the bar opens.

The dining room will offer hours of 4 to 9 p.m. six days a week. The dining room will be closed on Tuesday. They can seat about 66 people.

“We welcome people to come in and let the changes wow them,” Woodward said. “From our food to our presentation, we want to be a step above and offer an affordable dining experience.”
