OGDENSBURG -- Two Boys Scouts from Potsdam are volunteering with the Fort La Presentation Association War of 1812 Heritage Talks.
Lucas Hanss, Senior Patrol Leader BSA Troop 77, Potsdam, and Eric Hanss, Assistant Scout Master, BSA Troop 77, Potsdam, have volunteered their services to the Fort La Présentation Association War of 1812 Heritage Talks April 25-26.
They will camp on Van Rennselaer Point, the site of the original fort, and restore and mark at least a portion of the Abbé Trail, which is planned to be built along the point.
They are hoping to earn the Boy Scouts of America National Historic Trail Award.
