Highs topped out at 89 degrees in Gouverneur and Star Lake areas on Sunday, breaking the record of 87 degrees, which happened in 2003, according to Weather Underground.
The weather was even warmer in Massena and Potsdam as highs reached 91 degrees, tying the Massena record, originally was set in 1973.
Gouverneur and Star Lake broke their record by 2 degrees as 89 degree temps were recorded yesterday at KGTB Wheeler-Sack International Airport in Fort Drum, which is the nearest National Weather Service recording station for the southern portion of the county.
The high of 91 yesterday was recorded at Massena's Richards Field, the official station of the National Weather Service for Massena and Potsdam.
