A weakening mid-level trough will bring an increase in clouds today along with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms for St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The best chance for rainfall will be across Northern New York this morning, NWS says. Temperatures will not be as hot as Sunday, but afternoon highs will still reach the low to mid 80s in most sections.
Moderate south to southwest winds are expected today, and will bring a slight increase in humidity levels to the region, the service says.
Showers are likely and thunderstorms are possible before 9 a.m. and then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Overnight lows will be near 67 with a 20 percent chance of rain, the service says.
A slow- moving surface cold front and stronger mid-level trough will move into the North Country for Tuesday, with the potential for more widespread shower and thunderstorm activity, NWS says.
Highs Tuesday will be near 78 with a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
