POTSDAM — A Gofundme campaign has been launched to help pay for medical and funeral expenses for a local business owner who is dying.
Otto Czerepak, artist, teacher, master tiler and owner of The Tile Co., 6 Raymond St., has been battling medical issues for many years and is now on life support.
A statement on the Gofundme page reads:
“Otto Czerepak has come to his final days on this leg of his journey. He has put up a great fight, beat the odds numerous times, and maintained an amazing overcoming attitude through this battle. However, he is now on life support and our family understands the prognosis means goodbye. My father worked so hard his entire life to provide for his family and serve his community, but there is no financial safety net or means to cover his funeral expenses. Any assistance that anyone would be interested in providing would be so greatly appreciated as we celebrate and say our good-byes to the most wonderful man I know...my dad”
So far $2,180 has been raised in one day toward the goal of $10,000.
