In response to the Sound Off “Soup Kitchen, ” the idea to have a soup kitchen in the town hall building is a super idea from a super citizen, as are many generous souls here.
Being from large cities, I helped out in many such places and I do believe I made a small contribution; and, in doing so, gained better understanding of what it’s like to be in need. And not just food.
There are no pills for loneliness; people are the cure for that. Dish up the food, put a slice of bread on top, and sit down and join the group.
Amazing what one finds out; it’s a great way to get to know yourself and a discovery as well because it soon becomes apparent that you all have much more in common than a need for food.
I do hope this idea will get off the ground. You’ll have the volunteers, I’m sure of it!
