To the Editor:
I would like to thank all those that participated in making the Clarkson-CPH Charity Hockey Game a success! It was a great community event that raised over $1,100 for Potsdam Educational Opportunities Fund (PEOF).
I would like to recognize Doug Bohl, Clarkson University, and Ed Brown, CPH, for initiating and helping organize the event and also choosing PEOF as the charity to support. I would also like to thank Clarkson University for their support of the event by donating the ice time, raffle items and the use of the team jerseys. John White of Evans and White generously provided the popcorn machine, and the Builders Club of AAK Middle School worked hard at selling the popcorn and water.
Lastly, I would like to thank my fellow PEOF committee members for helping organize and sell the chuck a puck, raffle, and admissions tickets.
The game was entertaining and fun, ending with CPH beating Clarkson 5-4 in a shootout! I really hope that we can repeat this event annually. Thank you again to all that helped and came out to support PEOF!
