NORWOOD – A pharmacy technician class will be offered Sept. 30 through Jan. 29 at the Adult Educations Center, classroom C, 7725 State Highway 56.
The cost is $1,623 plus textbooks and the certification exam fee. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Successful completion of the 120-hour course will prepare the student for entry-level employment in a variety of settings including retail pharmacies, hospitals, chain drugstores, and nursing homes.
The course includes a 30-hour externship outside of normal class hours.
Students will be prepared for the certification exam offered by the nationally-recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. Participants need a high school diploma or equivalent and a 9th grade math level as determined by an entrance screening exam.
