CANTON -- The village of Canton might be looking at development of a third hotel in the village with a new proposal before officials.
A public hearing set for 6:15 p.m. Nov. 21 will hear comment on a proposal for a subdivision at the University Plaza for a new hotel on the old Pizza Hut lot.
David Muraco of Empire Management Co., owner of the plaza, said last month that he did not think it would be long before there was a plan for new developments there.
Under a proposal from New Venture Assets, LLC, the property, in a C-2 zone, would be subdivided with a 9.60-acre section for sale and development of a hotel.
Any comment on the proposal and possible environmental effects from it will be heard before the village Board of Trustees at the hearing, in the Municipal Building on Main Street.
The former Pizza Hut is vacant, while the new Pizza Hut has opened just east of the main Rt. 11 entrance to the plaza.
