What does it mean to you to Make America Great?
Is it choosing a leader who announced he would be a dictator on day one, who is “best friends” with dictators including Putin (a KGB agent from the Soviet era who poisons, imprisons and murders his opponents) and who calls the Ukrainian president a dictator for doing his best to defend his country against Putins’s war to capture and annex Ukraine?
My faithful Republican grandmother would turn over in her grave at Republicans’ betrayal of their goal to resist a dangerous Russian empire. She would say that “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down that wall” represented a Republican position that made America great because it stood up to Russian aggression and promoted democracy abroad in Germany.
Does “Make America Great” mean taking food and medical care away from poor people who are in need in order to give huge tax credits to the one percent of rich Americans, who are getting richer and richer, who are never worried about feeding the family vs. paying the rent, while we the People are getting poorer and poorer?
