WADDINGTON -- A Waddington man has been charged in federal court on child pornography charges.
According to court documents filed in the Northern District Court, Michael St. Denny Jr., no age given, has been charged with receiving and distribution of child pornography following an investigation by federal and state officers.
In the criminal complaint, law enforcement officials said a CyberTip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was received from a company that runs a social media platform.
The tip alleged a user had uploaded multiple files depicting child pornography.
According to court documents, the investigating officer reviewed the files after the tip was received, confirming the tip was accurate.
In the criminal complaint, law enforcement officers described three files recovered so far, all of which involve sex acts with prepubescent female children between the ages of six-months to five-years old.
According to the criminal complaint filed, evidence linked St. Denny to the acts in the files obtained by law enforcement.
The court authorized a search of his residence, person, vehicle, computers and storage media on Jan. 10, 2025, court documents say.
A search warrant was executed by Homeland Security Investigations and other agencies, according to the court documents.
Documents state an interview with St. Denny was conducted on Jan. 14 at which time St. Denny allegedly admitted to using the social media platform to distribute and receive child pornography in interstate commerce.
He allegedly also admitted to being responsible for the content described in the CyberTip, documents state.
St. Denny was allegedly shown still photos of material provided in the CyberTip, at which time he acknowledged that he distributed the material
Documents state St. Denny also admitted that there "may be one or two" child pornography files on a cellphone law enforcement seized from his person when he was detained, documents state.
A forensic analysis of the device is ongoing, documents state.
