MASSENA -- Massena town board members signed off on a number of contracts and grant disbursements for the Massena International Airport, clearing the way for multiple projects to begin in the near future.
During the June 18 board meeting, officials agreed to approve a cost-plus fixed fee agreement for construction observation and administration of a terminal roof project at the airport.
In other action, board members also approved a contract between the town and contractor Elmer W. Davis Inc. for construction of the terminal building roof project as well.
A change order was also approved for the sand storage construction project at the airport, increasing the contract amount by $48,811.
The federal share of the change order will be $46,370.45, while the New York State Department of Transportation will kicking $1,220.28. The town of Massena will contribute $1,220.27.
In other action, board members also approved a contract with AJ's Portable Toilet Rental to provide services for fishing tournaments to be held at the Massena Intake.
An amended grant disbursement agreement for fishing tournament working capital was also approved, with a revised grant amount of $158,036.89.
Board members also approved a contract between the town and the National Pro Fishing League LLC to host an NPFL professional fishing tournament from July 6-11 at the Massena Intake.
One final agreement was signed to submit a grant application through the consolidated funding application process to secure funding for Massena fishing tournaments as well.
