Mainly dry weather conditions are expected in St. Lawrence County today, but isolated showers may develop considering the high heat and relatively moist air in place, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The hottest weather will be on Friday, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the upper 80s to lower 90s and continuing warm nights in the 60s to lower 70s, NWS says.
Higher rain and thunderstorm chances return over the weekend with the potential for some downpours, the service says.
A cold front appears poised to bring relief to the heat and humidity early next week, forecasters say.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 92. West wind around 6 mph.

Increasing clouds, with a low around 70. Light and variable wind.
Saturday
A chance of thunderstorms before 8am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
