CANTON —  Synergy Volleyball Club is set to host its first tournament Saturday, March 22, at St. Lawrence University’s Augsbury Physical Education Center.

The tournament, called the Synergy Slam, will offer two divisions, girls 15 and under and girls 17 and under. The community is welcome to attend with an admission fee of $5. Light concessions will be available for purchase.

Teams from Westmoreland, Watertown, and Plattsburgh will be competing.

Synergy Volleyball Club operates under the Excelsior Empire Region Volleyball Association, a chapter of USA Volleyball (USAV.

Synergy Volleyball Club was established in 2024 by Darin and Amanda Freeman of Ogdensburg in an effort to expand opportunities for local girls to participate in competitive, travel volleyball.

The club services mainly St. Lawrence and Franklin counties, with players from Canton, Ogdensburg, Chateaugay, Malone, Beekmantown, Peru, and more across Northern New York.

“There are very few USAV events this far North, so we are very excited to bring these opportunities to the area,” stated Darin Freeman, Director of Synergy Volleyball Club. “Tournaments like this give girls a chance to compete closer to home, where their friends and family can attend and watch.”
