Suzanne "Sue" Marie Goodman, 61, formerly of Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG - Suzanne “Sue” Marie Goodman, 61, passed away peacefully at her home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on April 29, 2025, with her devoted husband, Joseph, by her side.

A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at a date and time to be announced.

Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Ogdensburg.

Born on a sunny day, November 13, 1963, in Ogdensburg, New York, Sue was the daughter of Elizabeth (Clark) and William Taylor.

She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1982 and went on to earn her associate’s degree in social work from Mater Dei College in 1984.

On August 18, 1984, Sue married her first husband, Charles “Chuck” Fenton. Together, they were blessed with two children, Jenessa and Jacob.

Sue dedicated many years to nurturing her family as a stay-at-home mother and an in-home daycare provider. Later, she was a school bus and cafeteria monitor at Heuvelton Central School, where she worked for twenty-three years. I

n 2019, Sue retired to Virginia Beach and began a new chapter of life. She married Joseph Goodman on October 9, 2021

Sue had a passion for cooking, a deep love for animals, and a green thumb that brought her gardens to life.

She found joy in the simple things—evening campfires and sharing stories with family and friends.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Sue’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her husband, Joseph Goodman of Virginia Beach; her daughter, Jenessa Fenton-Smithers, and son-in-law, Bryan Smithers of Ogdensburg, New York; her son, Jacob Fenton, and his fiancée, Morgan Mullaly of Coxsackie, New York; and her beloved grandchildren, Jayson Fenton, Eva Fenton, Remiah Fenton, and Flynn Smithers. Two step daughters; Marjorie Goodman and Rose Goodman of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by her brothers, Paul Taylor and his wife, Charlotte, and William “Bill” Taylor, all of Ogdensburg, New York.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Taylor; her siblings, James and Mary Taylor; and her former husbands, Charles “Chuck” Fenton and Craig McWilliams.
