OGDENSBURG - Funeral services for Susan N. (Tyo) Long, 67, of Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday December 7th, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Oswegatchie Mausoleum with Rev. Joseph Morgan officiating. A visitation will be held before the funeral from 11:00AM – 1:00PM at Frary Funeral Home. Mrs. Long died on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at Crouse Irving Hospital in Syracuse.
Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Susan N. (Tyo) Long was born on March 22, 1957 in Ogdensburg, NY. She was the daughter of the late Carl J. and June M. (McCaffrey) Tyo. She was a 1976 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy and went on to attend Canton ATC. In 1978 she married Robert J. Long, their marriage would later end in divorce in 2013. In 1982 she went to work for the State Hospital until her retirement in 2013 as a Keyboard Specialist. Sue was a Rifle Twirler in Roethel’s Executives in her younger years and a Parishioner of St. Mary’s Cathedral. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, shopping and being with her family. Driving around looking at Christmas lights had a big “Impact” on her life.
She is survived by her sons; Jason Long and his partner Melissa of Orlando, FL and Joshua Long and his partner Jamie of Watertown, NY. Her siblings; John Tyo and his wife Marlene of Ogdensburg, NY, Sylvia Fonda of Williamson, NY, Ronald Tyo of Canton, NY, Raymond Tyo and his wife Linda of Canton, NY, and Sandra Tyo-Martin and her wife Jeanne of Canton, NY, Randy Tyo and his wife Connie of Heuvelton, NY and Jeffrey Tyo of Cortland, NY also survive her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Carl and June Tyo.
