GOUVERNEUR— A Harley-Davidson motorcycle reported stolen out of Ogdensburg was recovered by Gouverneur village police along with multiple controlled substances, some of which are also alleged to have been stolen.
Michael A. Coleman, 23, of Ogdensburg, was charged Aug. 15 with one count fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property (felony) and one count third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and three counts seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, Gouverneur Police say.
Village police report that Coleman was charged following a traffic stop on Parker Street, during which the 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle the subject was riding was allegedly found to be stolen.
Coleman was also found to be in alleged possession of methamphetamine and was also cited for having a suspended New York State driver license.
Further investigation revealed that Coleman was allegedly in possession of multiple prescriptions in another person’s name, two of which were reportedly controlled substances.
Village police report that the prescriptions were returned to the owner, who alleges that they were stolen from their vehicle.
Coleman was issued appearance tickets returnable to Gouverneur Town Court.
