Our nation's debt is one of the biggest issues our government and the people face. Over the years the Federal government has acquired more than 35 trillion dollars in debt. The number is increasing steadily creating a steeper financial pit for future generations. Those in government like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats in Congress believe in a system in which they can spend recklessly because they have the American people to cover the tab.

While Americans battle inflation in prices for their groceries and fuel Kamala Harris suggests taxing the rich and controlling the prices of food with the power of the federal government. Government spending is the single biggest factor damaging our economy today as those in Washington repeatedly bite off more than they can chew year after year.

For us in the North Country, we have the help of some key Republican figures like President Donald Trump and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who vow to combat inflation and lower spending. Elise comes from a family who owned and operated their own business, and she understands through her family the importance of financial responsibility and placing attention on the issues that need to be addressed. If you wish to see ideals of fiscal responsibility back in Washington, vote for Republican candidates who understand that money does not grow on trees.
