State police are investigating an incident involving the death of two people in the Town of Gouverneur, but details are limited at this time.
On March 26, 2025, at approximately 8:56 p.m., members of the New York State Police reportedly responded to Fox Farm Road in the town of Gouverneur for a welfare check on two elderly individuals. Upon arrival, the troopers discovered two deceased individuals inside the residence.
This investigation is ongoing.
Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community.
The New York State Police are being assisted by the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
An autopsy was planned for today at 1:30 p.m. at Canton Potsdam Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Scott F. LaPoint to determine the cause and manner of death.
This is an ongoing investigation.
