CANTON — The St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse team, who ended the 2024 season ranked fifth nationally in both the USILA Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse rankings, has named seniors Paddy Condon, Michael Marinello, and Charlie Miele captains for the 2025 season.

With three veterans at the helm, the Scarlet and Brown just started practice and are gearing up to open their new campaign against Western New England at Greenwich Country Day School, Greenwich, Conn. on February 15.

"Even though the temperatures tell us something different, we are excited to be in full swing with our preseason practices, as we prepare for a demanding 2025 schedule," said head coach Mike Mahoney. "We look forward to playing some of the top teams both regionally and nationally. I am confident that we are in good hands with a committed group of leaders who will help pave the way over the next few months and I look forward to seeing the growth of the team over that time!"

Last season, Condon and Marinello earned USILA/Dynamic All-America, All-Region, and All-Liberty League accolades.

Condon finished the season with a .677 faceoff percentage, picked up 191 ground balls and scored eight goals, while Marinello backstopped the Saints with 229 saves, a .627 save percentage and a 7.46 goals against average. A force on defense for the Saints, Miele logged 37 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers in 2024.

The Saints, who advanced to the Liberty League semifinals last season, finished 2024 at 15-4 overall and 6-1 in Liberty League action, recording the best start in program history at 10-0 and earning a share of the conference regular season title. Despite a loss in the semifinals, they received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and advanced to the third round.

After opening the season at a neutral site, the Saints will travel to SUNY Cortland to play the Red Dragons on February 22. St. Lawrence is scheduled to host St. John Fisher for their home opener on February 28 and Nazareth on March 8.

Over spring break the Saints will make their third consecutive trip to Maryland for the highly competitive Mustang Classic at Stevenson, facing Washington and Lee and host Stevenson, before opening league play against Skidmore at Dexter-Southfield School.

St. Lawrence faces a string of road games at Union, SUNY Potsdam and Vassar, before returning to the North Country to host Middlebury, Ithaca and Clarkson in three straight home games. Nearing the end of the regular season, SLU will travel to RIT on April 29 and hosts RPI on senior day, April 26.
