CANTON — In recognition of National County Government Month, St. Lawrence

County invites residents to an Open House on Thursday, April 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Human Services Building, 80 State Highway 310.

This event offers an opportunity for community members to learn about local government services, connect with county departments, and discover the resources available to them.

Several key departments will be participating, including Public Health, Planning, Board of Elections, DMV, the County Clerk’s Office, Community Services, Office for the Aging, Emergency Services, Sheriff’s Department, and the Youth Bureau.

Each department will feature interactive activities, informational displays, and 30-minute presentations on important topics affecting residents.

“This Open House is a great way for our community to engage with county government, ask questions, and learn more about the services that impact their daily lives,” said Jennie Bacon, St. Lawrence County Board of Elections. “We encourage everyone to stop by, participate in the activities, and take advantage of the wealth of resources our county offers.”

A highlight for families: St. Lawrence County Emergency Services will be offering interactive tours of their Mobile Command Unit, an exciting opportunity for kids and adults alike to explore the high-tech vehicle used during real-life emergencies and special events.

Additionally, Deputy Lent and K9 Knowlton from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department will be making a special appearance at 4 pm. Families will enjoy an interactive demonstration and have the chance to learn firsthand about the work and training of the county’s K9 unit.

This is a great event to attend during Spring Break week, especially for families looking for fun, local, and educational activities to enjoy together.

All ages are welcome and light refreshments will be available.
