CANTON – Christopher A. Lanning, 28, of Madrid, was indicted by a St. Lawrence County Grand Jury on one count third-degree criminal mischief, according to court documents released Thursday, May 15.
Lanning is accused of damaging property belonging to another person with a value greater than $250 on or around Dec. 1 2024 in the city of Ogdensburg.
Peter Caughey, 68, of Madrid, was indicted by a St. Lawrence County Grand Jury on one count third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and one count second-degree menacing, according to court documents released May 15.
According to court documents, Caughey is accused of possessing a “dangerous instrument with the intent to use the same against another” on or around Dec. 25, 2024 in the town of Madrid.
Caughey is also alleged to have “place(d) or attempt to place another person in reasonable fear of physical injury, serious physical injury, or death by displaying what appeared to be a dangerous instrument.
