OGDENSBURG -- The SLC People Project is once again raising funds for their Sponsor a Child for Winter project by hosting a spaghetti and meatball dinner and chance auction on Dec. 3 starting at 4:30 p.m. at Ogdensburg Elks Lodge, 322 Caroline St. The meal will include tossed salad and Italian bread. Cost is $12 and the meal is eat-in or take-out.
The “Sponsor A Child for Winter” campaign was created to help provide warm winter gear to area children during the long cold winters in the North Country. The children who receive these brand-new coats, hats, boots and mittens are referred to us by their school district in a discreet manner and have been identified as needing assistance with obtaining these items. Last year, through donations, the SLC People Project was able to help 200 local children stay warm.
Help by “sponsoring” a child or two, or even sponsoring a group of children.
