POTSDAM— A Potsdam man who allegedly attempted to evade patrols by turning off his headlights received a number of traffic citations Friday, Potsdam Police say.
Village Police report that Ashton Remington, 18, of Potsdam, was issued uniform traffic tickets for improper or unsafe turn, failure to stop at a stop sign, and no tail lamps following an incident March 21.
Potsdam Police say that Remington was stopped after patrols observed him traveling at a high rate of speed on Elm Street, with radar measuring his speed at 55 mph in the 30 mph zone.
Remington then allegedly made a series of unsafe turns On Grant and Chestnut Street, then turned off his lights in an attempt to evade patrols.
He then reportedly turned on to Missouri Avenue, committing two more traffic violations before stopping for the traffic stop.
Tickets are returnable to Potsdam town court April 16.
