MASSENA — A Veterans Day parade, ceremony and luncheon was held on downtown Massena Monday morning, hosted by the Massena AmVets Post 4.

The annual parade had many local veterans who marched or rode in vans, and Legion Riders on motorcycles.

Massena Cub Scout Pack 31 passed out American flags as they marched downtown.

Following the parade, the AmVets hosted a ceremony at the Massena Fire Station on Andrews Street.

“Today, it is our privilege to say “thank you” to all of America’s veterans, to let them know that we appreciate them for their service and honor them for their sacrifices,” said Lee Fregoe, AmVets Post 4 Commander.”

The price of freedom is high. We cannot afford to forget those willing to pay for it, “ he said.

“Today we celebrate America’s veterans for Keeping this nation “the land of the free and the home of the brave,” Fregoe said.

The ceremony concluded with a rifle salute, bugler playing taps, and prayer.
