Slideshow: Rensselaer Falls Fire Department celebrates 100 years of service

RENSSELAER FALLS — The Rensselaer Falls Fire Department marked its 100th anniversary with a community celebration featuring a parade with many fire departments, live music, proclamations, and a special presentation.

St. Lawrence County Legislature Chair Scott Gray and a representative from Sen. Dan Stec’s office each issued proclamations honoring the department’s century of service, and recognizing Bob Poor for 70 years of dedication to the department.

Heidi Smith also presented a check from last week’s Color Run fundraiser to support the department.

A chicken BBQ begins at noon today at the fire department.
