Slideshow: Hundreds raise $75,000 for cancer support in Gouverneur

GOUVERNEUR — Hundreds of supporters, advocates and survivors gathered in Governeur on Oct. 4 for the 24th annual Gouverneur Breast Cancer Fund walk.

The event raised over $75,000, bringing total fundraising in 2025 to more than $200,000. Board members say the organization has raised more than $3 million in 24 years, with all funds used to support those undergoing breast and ovarian cancer treatment.

The Cancer Fund is supported through an all-volunteer group of organizers who ensure the funds assist patients and help organize further events throughout the year.
