POTSDAM – Helping Hands of Potsdam will host its 19th annual Cindy Talcott Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 19, at 9 a.m. at the Potsdam Town and Country Club.

The format is Four Person Scramble.

Last year the tournament raised $30,500. Entry fee is $95 per person which includes 18 holes of golf with cart, lunch and prizes. Sponsorships by individuals and businesses are welcome with levels from $100 to $2,500.

This year Casella Waste Management has pledged $5,000 as the event’s Premier Sponsor.

To sponsor or play in the tournament, call Helping Hands at (315) 268-0633.

Helping Hands was founded by Cindy Talcott in the basement of the Potsdam Church of the Nazarene and continues to help Saint Lawrence County residents with basic needs. The organization will celebrate 21 years in operation this year.

Helping Hands offers a free lunch four days a week, free furniture, appliances and housewares, heating and utility assistance, car repairs, assistance to fire victims and a food pantry.

The Christian P. House Memorial Furniture Barn, run by Helping Hands, has helped people from all over St. Lawrence County furnish their homes after domestic violence, home fires, as well as young people just starting out on their own.
