SeaComm donates $10,000 to North Country Children’s Museum in Potsdam

POTSDAM - SeaComm Federal Credit Union recently donated $10,000 to the North Country Children’s Museum (NCCM), located in Potsdam. The funds will sponsor the Infant Playroom, a key element of the museum’s second floor expansion.

Initially, the museum started as a pop up exhibit, traveling to local festivals and businesses. In 2018, their permanent space opened at 12 Raymond Street. The museum’s mission to provide a cultural and educational center for families by promoting children's creativity, fostering inquiry and support learning through active hands-on exhibits, workshops and programs will be amplified with the addition of exhibit space on their new second floor. With the help of local donors, like SeaComm, the museum’s growth means great things for families in the North Country. “We are so grateful to community partners like SeaComm for sponsoring new exhibits and spaces coming to the Children’s Museum’s expanded second floor. With this donation to the infant play area, we are able to open the Family Resource Room in the coming weeks. We are really excited about the programming coming to this needed community space.”  Sharon Vegh Williams, PhD, Executive Director, NCCM.

SeaComm has a long history of supporting organizations within the communities they serve. “The Children’s Museum offers a unique opportunity to the youth and families in our community,” states Scott A. Wilson, SeaComm President & Chief Executive Officer.  “We are proud to sponsor and have the naming rights for the Infant Play area, located on the second floor, to ensure the youngest of the museum patrons have a visually appealing and hands-on experience to enhance their overall visit.” With this donation, the North Country Children’s Museum will provide more fun and education for families with the youngest children.
