AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Clerk has announced a 30-day public comment period for a proposed amendment to the Judicial Oversight Commission Ordinance, in accordance with the 2013 Tribal Procedures Act.
The ordinance, originally adopted under Tribal Council Resolution (TCR) 2011-44, has been amended over the years through TCR 2023-26, TCR 2024-37, and TCR 2024-50. Tribal members are encouraged to review the latest proposed changes, which are available on the Tribal Member Portal. Printed copies may also be requested through the Tribe’s Office of Boards and Commissions or the Tribal Clerk’s Office by calling (518) 358-2272.
Written comments on the proposed amendment will be accepted through Ohiariha/June 6, 2025. Submissions can be made via email to boardscommissions@srmt-nsn.gov, or by mailing or hand-delivering them to:

After the comment period ends, the Tribal Council will have at least 30 calendar days to review feedback and prepare a final draft of the amendment. A summary of responses to submitted comments will be provided. Once finalized, the Tribal Clerk’s Office will notify the community when the proposed legislation is scheduled for adoption by Tribal Council Resolution.
