Rose was born on February 10, 1931, in Massena to Benjamin and Theresa (Bronchetti) Nicola. Rose graduated from Massena High School and attended Potsdam State earning a teaching degree. After a brief time working in Syracuse, she returned to the North Country to take care of her parents at their family home located at 129 N. Main Street in Massena. She taught Kindergarten, second and third grades at Madison School in Massena, retiring after 34 years. With her many friends she pursued her interests in golf, driving sporty cars and traveling.

She retained the love and respect of four generations including her grand nieces and nephews and their children. She taught us all the importance of family and caring for them in times of need involving personal sacrifice. She had the devotion of eight devoted caregivers as she entered into her 90’s.

The family would like to personally thank these wonderful dedicated girls who made it possible for her to spend her final years in her own home. Thank you Shaneen, Kathy, Jesse, Patty, Betty, Amy, Terri, and Michelle.

Rose is survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews: Roberta Rosanne Worden (Michael) of Delmar, NY, Anita Roseanne Manolt (Edward) of Hudson Falls, NY; Joan Boisvert Bidgood (Rick) of East Sandwich, MA; Anne Nicola Audette (Charles) of Gouverneur, NY, Michael Nicola (Tracey) of Lake Placid, NY, David Nicola (Serena) of Lake Placid, NY, Peter Nicola of Syracuse, NY, and Ruth Nicola Ottaviani (Joe) of Cincinnati, OH; Fredrica Nicola Capshaw (Bill) of Dobbs Ferry, NY; Stephanie Nicola of Monroe, GA; and Don Michael Nicola of Winter Park, FL.

May she be reunited with her beloved brothers and sisters, mother and father, and all the Bronchetti’s, Cappione’s and her dear friends the Agresta families. She will remain a guiding light for all of us.
