Rock the Call 2025 music festival in Potsdam raises more than $2,000 for veterans

POTSDAM — Turning the Marshalls up to 11, several rock and blues bands took the stage at the Circuit at 6 Elm St. to raise money for veterans recently.

With sets of tunes from Johnathan Hazelton, Nicholas Perry, Benny Bent Tail, Dad Bods, Sister Cinnamon, Plan B, Sweet Revenge, Jeremy Bar-Illan, Recovery and Divided Roads, entertaining a full house, the organizers of the Rock the Call 2025 dubbed the event a success.

“The fifth year’s Rock the Call turnout is consistent with the previous four years — it’s a packed ending to the event each time,” said Todd Premo, the event organizer.

“Our total donation was $2,494 to Homeward Bound Adirondacks! Big thanks to all the musicians that donated their time to our effort,” Premo told North Country This Week.

The funds raised from the event will help support Homeward Bound Adirondacks, an organization dedicated to empowering military veterans and providing services to those living with PTSD.

“This year’s event at The Circuit Music Venue was a resounding success, uniting the North Country community in a night of unforgettable performances and meaningful impact. Rock The Call extends heartfelt appreciation to the bands, the organizers, the sound and stage crews, and everyone who came out to support this important cause. ‘You Rock!’” said Shane Holmes, retreat coordinator for Homeward Bound Adirondacks.

The event organizers recognized John and Kaneta Cameron, owners of Impact Gym and Fitness in Massena, as the event’s biggest supporters this year.

The Camerons not only made a generous personal donation, but also contributed a gift basket for the event raffle, actively selling tickets at their gym to raise additional funds, organizers said. The raffle basket was won by Jack Allen, Holmes said in a press release.

“The Camerons’ commitment to Homeward Bound Adirondacks and to our mission of supporting military veterans is a shining example of true community leadership,” organizers said. “We are proud to honor John and Kaneta as outstanding community and business members, and we thank them sincerely for their generosity and dedication.”

Rock The Call 2025 also recognized and thanked all of the other local businesses and organizations whose sponsorships and donations helped make this year’s fundraiser possible, including: The Highest Peak, SeaComm Federal Credit Union, Northern Credit Union, Lanneuville’s Beverages, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino, Amvets Post 4 in Massena, Big Spoon Kitchen, Brick and Mortar Music, Fastenal and 8 State Printing and Design.

“Their generosity ensures that Rock The Call continues to grow stronger each year while making a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans across Northern New York,” Holmes said.
