To the Editor:
Your article regarding corrections officers seems very biased. They made their point (with their unsanctioned strike). They were heard with mediation. While this was happening national guard was brought in to protect officers remaining at work…(left by their fellow officers).
After three negotiations to get officers to return to work those that did not were fired!
How many second chances do these people get? What does the Taylor law mean if they don’t follow it? Considerations were given and some continued to refuse to go back to work….so why support them now?
Perhaps Stec and Gray should be supporting Hochul, the union and working corrections officers rather than those who refused to go back to work!
