To the Editor:
“We all are going to die!”
That statement by Senator Ernst summarizes the position of the 215 Republican representatives in Congress, including our Elise Stefanik, who voted for the Big ugly deathly House bill, which, without caring for us and our neighbors, will end:
Food aid (SNAP) for 11 million (most below the poverty line in NY even though 31% are working)
Medicaid for 12.7 million people (putting our hospitals as well as us and our neighbors at risk)
Do you agree with JD Vance and our Republican representatives in Congress that empathy for others is a weakness?
Or is it our responsibility through our government programs, to care for our neighbors?
