POTSDAM— A Malone man was charged with two misdemeanors following a traffic stop Thursday, Potsdam Police say.

Phillip P. Perry, 44, of Malone, was charged April 24 with one count third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, one count seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and was issued a uniform traffic ticket for no license plate lamp, according to Potsdam Police.

Village police report that Perry was charged after patrols observed him driving on Market Street with no license plate lamp on his vehicle, and was found to be allegedly in possession of a controlled substance. A DMV check of Perry’s license also showed that it was suspended.

Tickets are returnable to Potsdam Town Court May 7.
