PARISHVILLE – Amvets Post 265 in Parishville is now the owner of the Parishville Fire Hall property.
The transaction was made official Tuesday, March 11 in the office of attorney Charles Nash in Canton.
The Amvets Post received a lead that the Fireman’s Hall was up for sale. Frank Perry, the post commander at the time, and Ed (Dude) Cool, chief of the Parishville Fire Department, came to an agreement that the Amvets Post would purchase the hall and have the hall continue to serve the community, according to Charles R. LaShombe, First Vice of Amvets Post 265.
Mark Gardner is now post commander and he wished to thank all the people who have put in countless hours in making this purchase a reality.
LaShombe said the post also issues a big thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary, under the leadership of Michelle (Hayes) Gardner, for all their work and dedication. The post also thanks attorney Nash for his efforts in the legality of the purchase.
The post also applauds Milton Degraw who was also instrumental in the negotiation process of the purchase.
Joining LaShombe at the March 11 purchase ceremony were Cool, Gardner, Brian Hayes, second vice, and Milton Degraw, trustee.
