To the Editor:
There are many reasons to vote for Marty Miller to be the Supervisor in the Town of Potsdam. Currently, Marty creates budgets and supervises 35 employees in his position as a department of public works director.
He has been on the Town of Potsdam Board for the last 4 years and during that time he worked with town officials to write a complicated grant for needed infrastructure (a salt shed). Over $250,000 was awarded to the Township.
Marty is also overseeing renovations to Postwood Beach (which is funded from American Rescue Funds given to the town). In addition, Marty has worked hard on negotiating fair collective bargaining agreements with the two town unions. Furthermore, he is working with the board to get municipal water and sewer to residents and businesses along part of the Route 56 corridor.
Another accomplishment is that he strongly supported a jointly-funded venture with the Village of Potsdam to create pickleball courts. This is the first town and village activity that targets adult recreation. The pickleball club has been so successful that it has donated thousands to local charitable causes by sponsoring tournaments.
Finally, Marty can be proud of the fact that the Town Hall has a new generation of highly-competent employees who will serve the public well for many years.
Please consider voting for Marty on Nov. 7.
