State Police in conjunction with St. Lawrence County Stop DWI conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative in St. Lawrence County on July 5.

During the initiative six businesses were checked for compliance. One person was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, after selling alcohol to a person under age 21.

Valero, 3681 State Highway 37, Morristown, was not compliant under the New York Beverage Control Law Section 65, prohibited sale to persons under the age of 21.


The following establishments are recognized for their compliance:

•   Dollar General, 3712 State Highway 37, Morristown

•   Dollar General, 52 S. Main Street, Hammond

•   Stewarts, 88 State Street, Heuvelton

•   Dollar General, 6 Mcilwee Road, Heuvelton
•   Price Chopper, 981 Ford Street Ext, Ogdensburg
•   7 11, 301 Champlain Street, Ogdensburg

During these investigations, businesses are checked utilizing a trooper in plainclothes, and one or several underage operatives who cannot lie about their age or provide a false date of birth.
