Dr. Chayton Massic, of Ogdensburg, recently earned a Ph.D. in Sustainability Education at Prescott College, a private institution based in central Arizona. He achieved this academic milestone shortly after turning 23 years of age.
In his dissertation, Massic explored how considerations for accessibility and transferability can directionalize the sustainability movement through the growth of unified stakeholder fronts. His dissertation is available to read on ProQuest. During his studies, Massic worked as a substitute teacher, an AP Statistics and Chemistry teacher and a Student Engagement and Leadership Coordinator in the educational sector.
Massic recently served as the lead researcher on a project that aimed to elevate transnational inclusion in higher education partnerships. The results collected from this project can be found in the Community Engaged and Critical Research Special Issue of the Journal of Sustainability Education. Massic currently works as a college professor and is planning his next research project in the realm of environmental law and policy, as he also holds a master’s degree in environmental studies.
