OGDENSBURG – An early morning structure fire was quelled within an hour by Ogdensburg Professional Firefighters Thursday.
The fire ignited in a home on the 1000 block of Washington Street just before 4 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6.
Ogdensburg Firefighters Captain Irvine and Shift 1 crews responded with Engine 3 and Quint 1 , and arrived on scene within two minutes.
Crews determined that the fire that started in the home had spread into the walls, and utilized aggressive interior attacks to knock down the bulk of the fire in short order.
Crews worked for just under an hour in temperatures hovering around 10 degrees, and were back in service at 4:54 a.m.
Ogdensburg Police Department assisted with traffic control while crews fought the blaze.
