NORFOLK— A Norwood woman is facing a felony evidence tampering charge following a traffic stop Sunday, according to State Police.
Katie J. Vallance, 37, of Norwood, was charged April 13 with one count tampering with physical evidence (E felony), and one count seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, State Police say.
Troopers report that Vallance, who had an active warrant for her arrest, was a passenger in a vehicle being investigated on a traffic stop Sunday evening.
State Police report that Vallance was found to be in the possession of cocaine, despite repeatedly denying having any contraband when asked by police.
Vallance was reportedly taken into custody without incident.
She was arraigned in Norfolk Town Court and was released under the supervision of probation. Vallance was later transported to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility due to a separate warrant issued by the Massena Police Department.
