NORWOOD — The Norwood-Norfolk Central School District is proposing a $21,347,854 capital improvement project to upgrade aging infrastructure, improve occupied spaces, and enhance school facilities.
The project is expected to have no additional impact on taxpayers, with a building aid ratio of 98% and $3,050,000 drawn from capital reserves.
Voting takes place Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the school in the district boardroom.
Planned improvements include sitework such as pavement replacement, stormwater system upgrades, new track and soccer field with bleachers and scoreboard, field lighting, and concrete pads at softball dugouts.
Building upgrades include adding air-conditioning in selected areas, electrical and HVAC system improvements, reroofing of 2004 vintage roofs, LED lighting installation, restroom and locker room renovations, operable partition replacement, wireless clock system installation, bus garage concrete restoration, and upgraded finishes throughout the schools.
