NORTH LAWRENCE – A North Lawrence woman is accused of striking a person with a shovel during an argument June 14, according to state police.
Troopers said they responded to Church Street in Lawrence for a reported assault.
An investigation determined Samantha R. Caron, 32, and the victim were involved in a verbal argument which led to Caron getting a shovel and striking the victim in the left side abdomen area.
The reportedly victim sustained minor bruising and a laceration.
The victim contacted law enforcement, which caused Caron to allegedly leave before their arrival.
Caron was later charged with third-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
She was released on appearance tickets returnable to Town of Lawrence Court at a later date.
