CANTON — From horseback riding, four-wheeling and fishing, to mountain climbing and digging for treasures, the North Country Recreation program offers a variety of activities to clients.
Many individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities participate in the North Country recreational opportunities.
The purpose of the program is to provide exercise, socialization, and to learn new skills. Group activities allow people to come together to learn, work together, and overall have fun.
In addition to outdoor activities, the North Country Recreation program has expanded to include crafts, video production, games, online chats and more.
Upcoming activities include bowling, cooking, Christmas caroling and a holiday party.
“This program is truly unique and opens up so many opportunities for people with disabilities. Everyone should be able to enjoy the benefits of living in nature’s playground. North Country Recreation does just that and our team is proud to offer it,” said Ray Babowicz, Director of Communications and Strategic Partnerships
