MASSENA – Laura Jandrew, Massena, an active new-member recruiter for the North County Chapter of The New York Statewide Senior Action Council (StateWide) since the 1990’s, was awarded The Robert O’Donnell Award, an honor given to a member who has done extraordinary work to promote the growth and development of the organization at its annual convention in Saratoga Springs.
Laura has been an active recruiter of new members and has participated in uncountable outreach events for three decades, actively working chapter “tables” to promote StateWide and selling raffle tickets. Even as it became more difficult for her to walk, she would still attend. She said, “As long as I can, I can provide information and sell tickets!”
“We are thrilled to honor Laura for everything she has done and continues to do for New York’s Seniors. We look forward to working with her on current and future initiatives,” said Maria Alvarez, Executive Director of NY StateWide Senior Action Council.
