Massena library issues survey, gives thanks after Library Week

To the Editor:

The Massena Public Library celebrated National Library week April 28-May 3, 2025.

The Massena Public Library Board of Trustees extends our heartfelt thanks to the Friends of the Library for their generous sponsorship of this year’s National Library Week celebration.

Thanks to their support (and the hard work of library staff!) our community enjoyed a vibrant week filled with programs, events, and an outpouring of enthusiasm for the role the library plays in Massena.

Over 1,000 people visited the library during the week, a wonderful reminder of how deeply our community values learning, creativity, and connection.

We are also grateful to everyone who participated, donated, or supported the Friends of the Library’s fundraising efforts. Through several successful events, the Friends raised over $3,000 to benefit future library programs and initiatives. Your generosity helps ensure that the library can continue to offer free and enriching resources to the entire community.

As we look to the future, the Library is in the process of updating its strategic plan to better reflect the evolving needs and priorities of the Massena community. We invite everyone to be part of this important process. Please take a few minutes to complete our community survey, available at https://tinyurl.com/MPLSurvey2025.  Your input will help shape the library’s services, programs, and goals in the years ahead.

Together, we can ensure the Massena Public Library continues to be a welcoming, inclusive, and forward-thinking space for all.
