MASSENA — Nominating petitions are now available for qualified residents interested in running for the Massena Central School District Board of Education. Those wishing to run for a seat on the Board can pick up a petition at the Central Administration Building, located at 84 Nightengale Ave., Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This year, there are three (3) vacant seats up for election. Two (2) seats will be for a 5-year term beginning July 1, 2025, while one (1) seat will be for a 2-year term starting May 21, 2025.
Candidates must submit completed nominating petitions, signed by at least 25 qualified district voters, no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 21. To be eligible, candidates must be a qualified voter of the district, at least 18 years old, a resident of the district for at least one year prior to the election, and the only member of their household serving on the school board.
The school board election and budget vote are scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
