POTSDAM -- A Massachusetts man has been arrested on child sex crimes in the town of Potsdam.
State Police say Colin C. Harrison, 21, a resident of Manchester by the Sea, Massachusetts, was charged with one count each of Promotion of a Sexual Performance by a Child and Possession of a Sexual Performance by a Child.
According to the New York State Police Troop B Computer Crime Unit, the investigation was initiated by two online platforms reporting to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) child exploitation material that had been sent through those online platforms through a WiFi network HARRISON had access to.
Harrison was issued appearance tickets, answerable in Town of Potsdam Court at a later date.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
The Troop B Computer Crime Unit was assisted by the Potsdam Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.
